Backscreen - Streaming Metadata and Content Creation

I contributed to Backscreen’s platform by developing original posters, metadata, categories, and curated descriptions for films and series.

The project focused on delivering a cohesive and immersive visual experience, aligned with the brand’s identity and the platform’s user experience goals.
Backscreen

Backscreen is a daughter organization of Tet — one of the largest technology companies in the Baltics. Tet specializes in innovation and provides high-quality IT, telecommunications, and media services to businesses both in Latvia and internationally.
As an extension of Tet’s vision, Backscreen focuses on delivering a curated streaming experience, connecting diverse audiences through original and high-quality content.
The Challenge

The mission was to develop engaging and visually cohesive content for Backscreen’s platform, including poster artworks, film and series metadata, and category curation.
The goal was to build a catalog that was not only functional, but also immersive and visually appealing, aligning with the brand’s identity and reaching a diverse, global audience.
I was responsible for transforming abstract ideas and fictional titles into compelling visual and textual assets that could live within the Backscreen experience.
Creative Process (Coming Soon)

This section is currently being updated to showcase the research, visual development, and metadata curation process behind the Backscreen project.
POSTER GALLERY

A curated selection of vertical poster designs created for Backscreen’s film and series catalog. Each poster was developed to reflect the identity and narrative tone of its corresponding title, enhancing the visual storytelling experience within the platform.

Metadata Examples
Along with the poster and visual design, I developed metadata for each title, including naming, category assignment, and concise descriptions to support content discovery within the Backscreen app. (All fictional)
Title: Be Your Own Boss
Category: Think Different
Short Description:
Don’t wait for permission. Build your thing. Claim your space. Be your own boss, on your own terms.
Description (w/o limitation):What if freedom doesn’t come with a desk or a paycheck?
Be Your Own Boss is a bold visual essay about taking back control, not just of your work, but of how you show up in the world. In a system that rewards exhaustion, this film invites you to pause. To ask what it really means to “make it.” Told through stark visuals, voice-over fragments and raw reflections, it explores the tension between hustle and purpose, ambition and alignment.
It’s not about starting a business.
It’s about starting with yourself.

Final Thoughts

Working on this project for Backscreen has been a deeply enriching experience in my journey as a junior graphic designer.
It challenged me not only technically, but also personally,  pushing me to overcome self-doubt and the fear of not being “ready.”

Seeing the results come to life has been both rewarding and empowering, and my passion for design continues to grow with every step.

As I continue to collaborate with the platform on its television section, this project remains very much alive, growing, evolving, and expanding alongside Backscreen.

I’m truly grateful for the trust placed in me and the creative freedom I've had throughout this process. I’m excited for what’s next.
